Santeria's Killing The Mood With Her Benz

Probably my biggest problem here in the MashPit is that I follow way too many DJ's. Sounds like a Cadillac problem, I know, but it's a bit troublesome. I'm not complaining though, I really love all music, and mashups in particular. My point being I don't get to cover some people as much as I would like. DJ Schmolli would be a perfect example. The guy cranks out some wicked music, and I'm a little overdue with sharing some of it. So here we are!

Today I have two of his latest. Sublime vs Janis Joplin (dedicated to Brad Nowell) and Glenn Miller Orchestra vs. Rage Against The Machine. Quite the mix! Enjoy them responsibly...

It Hurts Worderful Wit Chu

Today I have two amazing mashups. I find them both to be quite relevant for where I'm at in my life. They are made by two of my favorite DJ's, Pheugoo, and Robin Skouteris. Robin's mash is made out of two of my all-time favorite songs, Johhny Cash "Hurt (NIN cover) and Queens of the Stoneage "Make It Wit Chu". Pheugoo's is a mash of Hurts "Wonderful Life" with some Brainbug and Finn violins thrown in. Both are getting heavy playtime on my music player right now for very good reason. They are amazing tunes. Judge for yourself.

Bleeding Like A Single Lady

This post (which I started over a week ago) was originally going to feature a new mashup from David Mungo: "Gimme More Behind The Dance Floor" featuring Michael Jackson and Britney Spears, but it's already been taken down (which is why Vimeo is so much better). Since I've never had him here before I figured I'll just post some of his other stuff. So here we go, three great mashups from David Mungo.

David Mungo - Bleeding The Shut Up

Walking Bootie

I was looking at this picture of a friend of mine (if she let's me, I'll post it here - stay tuned) and she was wearing these really hot boots - actually the whole situation was kinda smokin' - and I couldn't help but think of the classic Nancy Sinatra song about boots doing some walking. Although to be honest, it wasn't walking that these boots made me think of.... Speaking of which I am a bit surprised that nobody has mashed this with the Pussycat Dolls - I'm thinking Puss' In Boots would be an awesome bootleg title.... <*hint*hint*>

I've got a whole bunch of tunes and videos here today, including a few that aren't even mashups, such as an unmolested original and a rather sexy cover. Plus a few mixes and mashups, and a nice mp3 collection just for good measure. Take your time and enjoy the music.

http://youtu.be/DPtfsk4ETjM - Jessica Simpson - These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

Beatles vs. Nancy Sinatra vs. Smiths (Miserable Taxman) (mp3)

Party Ben - This Tightropes Made For Walkin' [Nancy Sinatra vs. Janelle Monáe] (mp3)

And last but not least, here's a whole boatload of various mp3's relating to the walkin' bootie.

The Smooth Power Of Rolling One Lifetime Romance

I came across this video (yet another great Adele mash!) from Marc Johnce (@marcjohnce) not too long ago over at Mashup Industries, which seems to be the place to go to see what some of my favorite Mashup artists have been up to lately.

I've also included a couple more of his mashups, one nearly as new and one a bit of a classic. The new one is where I must confess that I've finally been Beibered!! I've managed to make it this far through life without ever hearing him sing. There's a first time for everything isn't there! The last is a great mashup he made with Dan Mei as part of DMF.

Clean Pöpcørn Rhapsody

This is a video I have been enjoying immensely for awhile now. It's not quite a mashup in the usual sense (at least in the way I usually define them around here). It is an unmodified song, set to a fan made video. It is the muppets (un-licenced and unofficial I'm sure) performing "Dance Yrself Clean" by LCD Soundsystem". A band I had never heard of until I discovered them Mashed with The Beatles. Now I love 'em! I can easily think of worse things to do than to Dance myself clean!! Or, as Kermit would say (as someone commented) - it's not easy being green (or dancing yourself clean).

And for added value I have also included one of the all-time classics. The Muppets performing Bohemian Rhapsody. *edit* due to popular demand I have also added one of the Swedish Chef's greatest all-time skits - Popcorn Shrimp

Rolling On The Wood I Was Born On

The Martians have been up to their old tricks I see. It also looks like I may have spoken too soon regarding my favourite Adele mash. The newest DJ's From Mars mash takes a serious run at that "title" in my books. Enjoy 3 of their newest mashups.

R.O.C.K. n' Rolling In My Head

I know it's been a tad long now (5 months long if I'm not mistaken) since I last updated the Top10, and It will probably be another month before I am able to fix that (cocaine is a hell of a drug!). When I do, these first two songs will probably be in. They've both been getting a lot of time in my personal playlist for awhile now. I'm really grooving on the mashups MashMike has been putting out lately. He really knows how to rock! His dance tunes are just as sweet.

There have been many great mashups using Adele's Rolling In The Deep over the past few months, I think I may have even posted a few of them here, but this may be my fave, in a group which already has some great mashes. I am beginning to believe that this song just may inspire the best work from from the mashup scene. The 2nd song is just as good, and is currently one of my favorite get down and boogey rock n' roll mashes currently out there. You can listen for yourself and see if you don't agree with me ;-)

I love this next video from Robin Skouteris (@robinskouteris). The video is all content from fans, which is an awesome concept for mashups IMHO. Enjoy!! I've also included his new Mortal Kombat remix, which is quite deadly!! Another flawless victory!!

Go With the Skelter

I came across this great mashup over at Funny or Die. Will Farrel and Judd Apatow's little comedy site. Lot's of hilarity there for sure. Nothing funny about this great mashup, just good music. Still though, I always like to see mashups get more exposure.
