New Years Pop!!

Since it is my opinion that DJ Earworm is the world's greatest Mashup Artist. I don't think I am alone in this opinion. He released this year's United State Of Pop 2010 - Don't Stop The Pop on December 28 (I would know, I was viewer 17) and it's now at nearly 4.5 million views. Last years (Blame it on the Pop) has over 32 million views. Mashups are getting out there...

I thought it appropriate to kick off 2011 with a salute to his yearly top-of-the-pops mashups. At the end of every year puts together a mashup of the years top 25 songs (according to Billboard). Starting with 2007. I will list the songs and artist after the videos.

  1. Yet another installment in what has become an annual New Year’s tradition. It’s the United State of Pop, which mashes up the Top 25 songs of the year, according to Billboard magazine.

In 2010, pop has gone into serious all-out party mode. In 2009 the music was encouraging us to pick ourselves back up after being knocked down again, and to rock out to some great dance music while you’re at it. This year’s music tells us to keep going now that we’re up and having fun. In fact, the fun seems to be in such overdrive that it borders on recklessness. Usher urges us to ‘dance like it’s the last night of your life”, and Katy Perry wants us to “run away and don’t ever look back”. Even the songs that aren’t about parties have parties in their videos, like this year’s entries from Mike Posner and Lady Antebellum.

It’s a great thing about music that you can leave your worries and lose yourself in the moment. In our current world of dance pop culture fantasy, this takes place at a club, where you can drink, meet the most amazing person you’ve ever met, and where as Ke$ha says, “the party don’t stop”.

Personally, as a DJ performing mostly at raging party-ish events, I can relate. My career path has been crazy lately, and I’m definitely not ready for the party to stop!

So with that in mind I urge you all please…… Don't Stop the Pop! - DJ Earworm
