Looks Like Good Ikobahton Goes Down Cruelly

The next song on my latest top ten list (for last year, heh)is DJ Schmolli's "Cruelly Good Summer Feeling". I really enjoyed this little demonstration of his mega-multi-mashup mastery. In his own words it's "a 13 source mashup which is based on Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling” (which again is based on Avicii’s “Levels”)". I'm not sure if this is actually my favorite Schmolli mash of last year, but I figure it's way too late now to start messing with the list (which I actually made many months ago). I've also included a few other great tunes from the Austrian Mashup Master. Including a wicked video set to the last Rambo movie. Not for the squeemish - don't watch it if you don't like gory violence! Not to mention the very racy "Ikobahton". Overall consider this post to be not for childre ;-)

Queen Rigby

Here are a couple more Eleanor Rigby Mashups, using two different Queens of the Stoneage tunes. Which just happen to be one of my very favorite bands, especially live (although I loved them even more when they had Mark Lanegan).

Cupid Stunts

Tuesday was the anniversary of Al Capone's most notorious stunt ever. So let's all celebrate with a Valentine's Day Mashacre. I guess I will follow tradition and stick to some fairly typical Cupid stunts, I mean "romantic" mashups.

First up is a brand new mashup from the usually much less sappy Dj Schmolli (Just kidding, this really is a beautiful piece of work) combining two love songs with the same title.

DJ Schmolli - Beautiful
http://vimeo.com/36496518 - mp3 - Christina Aguilera "Beautiful" vs. James Blunt "Beautiful"

Here is one with an even higher saccharine content. After all, chocolate is very sweet.

Voicedude - Mars Chocolate
video - mp3 - Bruno Mars “Just The Way You Are” vs Hot Chocolate “You Sexy Thing”

Here is another mashup consisting of two identically titled love songs. This particular mash has been done by quite a few producers, but DeeM did it first.

DeeM - With AND Without You
http://youtu.be/ySC-2ARqIuc - https://vimeo.com/34157845 - mp3 - U2 "With Or Without You" vs Usher "Without You"

DJ Earworm also did a romantic little mashup with another U2 ballad.

Fissunix did an excellent little tune with a bit of help from the popular singing TV show Glee.

Last, but not least, is my favorite love song of all time, remixed by my most favorite remixer. Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" as envisioned by Virgin Magnetic Material.

Wicked Rigby's Paranoid

Today I have a pair of killer mashups which both use The Beatles' "Elenore Rigby".

Let It Be Back In My Life

I can hardly believe September is already here. Summer is nearly over, and school starts tomorrow! Time sure does fly when you don't know what you're doing! It seems like the older I get, the faster life gets. So maybe it's time for a little trip down memory lane... Here are a couple of great mashups from Faroff (including a brand new one) that will help us to do just that, with a little help from the Beatles!

It's My Human Speed

Today The Ethiopian DJ finally gets another go in the Pit. I know it's been too long, and the dude cranks it out at a very prolific rate. Here three of his better (they're all good) and more recent mashups.

Together On The Floor At Night

I've been slacking just a tad here at the Pit. Life happens some times, and I'm grateful it does! In the mean time the mashups keep piling up. DJ Earworm finally released a new video a few weeks ago, and here it is, with a couple of his classics.

It has long been my opinion that Earworm is the King of Mashups. I'm not saying he's necessarily my favorite (although he is one of them), but that he is the most popular and most successful. For example, here's what he wrote on his latest (Mega) Mashup:
"I made this music video mashup to be shown as part of a concert at Wembley Stadium in London for Capital FM's Summertime Ball, where all fifteen of these artists performed." I know of no other mashup DJ's anywhere near this level. Although it would be nice to see more of them achieving something close to this.

Go With the Skelter

I came across this great mashup over at Funny or Die. Will Farrel and Judd Apatow's little comedy site. Lot's of hilarity there for sure. Nothing funny about this great mashup, just good music. Still though, I always like to see mashups get more exposure.

YIR - August

I thought that I would do a Year In Review here at the Mash Pit. I've been at it for  almost half a year now, so this will be good practice for next year! I feel that I have posted some great songs on the Pit, and I would like to share a few that may have been over-looked. I will not be sharing ones that have been in the Top 10 - I think. I don't remember 100% which songs I've removed from the list. Maybe some of these have been on it. Oh well!!

I am posting them in the reverse order they appeared in, not my order of preference. I am embedding my favorite vids, but the original posts may have had more than the one. The original posts are also linked (in the titles). Here are five of my favourite mashups from August.

Go With the Flow Eleanor Rigby!

The Queens have been one of my favourite bands for awhile now (ever since I seen them play a 250 person club with Dave Grohl drumming). It's always nice to see more Beatles mashes. Most of the ones I find are pure Beatles (Beatles mashed with Beatles).

Back to Rock You

Saturdays are meant for rockin' and it's been a few days. This mash is made out of at least six songs, but is really well done. The end result is a slightly more danceable "we will rock you". A nice sunny saturday song.
