Anybody in the mood for melancholy? Today I have more melancholy mashups from the melancholic himself, Phil RetroSpector. His latest mashes Elvis with Duffy. This is followed by Blue Mundane, which, I think, shows more than any other song or video of his why he is called the "King of Melancholy". I've tossed in a couple animation mashes as well, just because there really is no such thing as too much melancholy! At least not the way Phil does it. They are both awesome. A Thousand XOXODUS Secrets (Virginity Rollplay)

It's been too long since I've had anything here by Phil Retro Spector. Way too long. Today I aim to fix that. Phil's mashups are rather unique, he definitely has a unique style and sound - as well as look! His videos are as interesting as the audio work he does. Unlike most mashes, I don't really think his are quite meant for dancing. For myself I find that I feel more like relaxing (or sleeping) than bouncing around, but this can be a good thing. I thought that I would do a Year In Review here at the Mash Pit. I've been at it for  almost half a year now, so this will be good practice for next year! I feel that I have posted some great songs on the Pit, and I would like to share a few that may have been over-looked. I will not be sharing ones that have been in the Top 10 - I think. Don't Fear if it Smells Like Hurt

Ahh Sunday. My only day off. I am definitely grateful for that. These two and a half week long pay periods kinda blow, especially since I've only had one real paycheque. I could really use some cash.

I guess I will have to "settle" for some of the Johny kind. Cash that is. Although I really hate to use the word "settle". These are two of my favourite Johny Cash Mashups.

The first one is an audio mash. No real video, just a slide show. It is JC covering NiN's "Hurt" mashed with Nirvana with some BöC and New Order thrown in for good measure.

I also really like this remix of Hurt. It's very relaxing, almost melancholy. It's a great bedtime song, if you're not too depressed that is. I am quite happy myself and I love this mix.
