My Rude Psychos (Without Lithium)

I have a few ideas I'm working on to post here soon, but James decided to jump the cue by posting another super awesome tune on my wall (that I had earlier bemoaned for lacking a good video). Cue jumping here is easy and I do like to encourage it!
So once again, I present some more amazing videos from GonzoJam Mindless Productions. Three amazing video's he made for others. Including what I think is the best AMV ever!! Plus a sweet audio mashup (sans video) he made himself. FYI, see the Vimeo version for better HD!

Exit Bright Contrasts

I can't help it. It hasn't been all that long I know, but I am going to post more videos from The Kleptones' Videotones project. The more I watch (and listen) to this stuff the more impressed I am. Every video in this 'album' is absolutely amazing. So are the songs themselves. See (and listen) for yourself!

Lady Judas' Spirit

It has been WAAAYY too long since I've had anything from WaxAudio in the Pit. What I have had has been very cool, but it's few and far between. They released a new tune today and it's quite twisted. Check it out! Gaga vs Judas Priest, with the Final Teen Spirit mash thrown in for good measure.

Yesterday was Kurt Cobaine's birthday, and to commemorate it I have more great Nirvana mashups (of course!) I've heard it said that some of this stuff would cause him to be rolling in his grave, but I say it'll make him dance!!

You Should Gimme Rockstar Shaped Boxes

I real love these videos from DJ Eric Ill. First up are a pair of mashups by Aggro1 (who has quit to be reborn as part of Angels & Filth) featuring Alice In Chains vs. Does It Offend You, Yeah? and Nirvana vs Quadrat Beat. These are followed by The Illuminoids' remixes of The Clash and The Rolling Stones.

Blue Voodoo IckyThumped The Nations Spirit

I just heard some real bad news. The White Stripes have broken up (see Feb 2). Jack White is one of my favorite musicians, and the White Stripes really knew how to put on a helluva a show. But then again, so do the Raconteurs. I guess like the Dude, I will abide. In the mean time, let's celebrate the White Stripes the way I do everything around here, with some great mashups! Keep Rockin' Jack and Meg.

Smells Like Robin's Spirit Gaga

I may not be able to bring you Heaven, but how about Nirvana? A whole lotta Nirvana coming up, all mashed every which way! Starting the latest from the DJs From Mars. Plus their mash with Timbaland, followed by Mark Vidler's mash with a very young Michael Jackson. All washed down with a clone of Lobsterdust's NirGaga. These great tunes are all actually different enough that if you listen to all them there is a very good chance you still won't be sick of listening to Teen Spirit.

YIR - August

I thought that I would do a Year In Review here at the Mash Pit. I've been at it for  almost half a year now, so this will be good practice for next year! I feel that I have posted some great songs on the Pit, and I would like to share a few that may have been over-looked. I will not be sharing ones that have been in the Top 10 - I think. I don't remember 100% which songs I've removed from the list. Maybe some of these have been on it. Oh well!!

I am posting them in the reverse order they appeared in, not my order of preference. I am embedding my favorite vids, but the original posts may have had more than the one. The original posts are also linked (in the titles). Here are five of my favourite mashups from August.

Smells Like Supermassive Reggae Two Times

Here is a bunch of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" mashups, inspired by a FB friend who is hosting a "Smells Like Teen Spirit" week on his feed (he is doing unique covers mostly as opposed to mashups). This first mash is from his collection. It's a reggae version. Andy (the musician, not Stewart the poster) did all the extra instrumentation himself. Then there is the Doors, Metallica & Muse all followed up with a pair of Rammsteins. Be sure to take a real big whiff! Can you smell it?

Jenny's Superstitious Box

Here we have a pair of Wonderful Mashups. Stevie Wonder that is.

First up is this wicked mash resulting in the most Uber riff ever. Heart-shaped box plus superstition equals awesome! Sorry 'bout the J-lo...

Spins Like Teen Spirit

A little retro mash! Who'da thought Nirvana was so danceable? Another Nirvana mash that makes me laugh (although not as much as the Rick Astley mash).

Don't Fear if it Smells Like Hurt

Ahh Sunday. My only day off. I am definitely grateful for that. These two and a half week long pay periods kinda blow, especially since I've only had one real paycheque. I could really use some cash.

I guess I will have to "settle" for some of the Johny kind. Cash that is. Although I really hate to use the word "settle". These are two of my favourite Johny Cash Mashups.

The first one is an audio mash. No real video, just a slide show. It is JC covering NiN's "Hurt" mashed with Nirvana with some BöC and New Order thrown in for good measure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNIfSmL1Enw&feature=youtube_gdata_player Johny Cash "Hurt" vs Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit" vs Blue öyster Cult "Don't Fear The Reaper"

I also really like this remix of Hurt. It's very relaxing, almost melancholy. It's a great bedtime song, if you're not too depressed that is. I am quite happy myself and I love this mix.
