Burning Virgin Wedding Cult

One of my favorite details of the past month has been the productivity of Shai Vardi, aka Virgin Magnetic Material. One of my very favorite remixers (as I have stated, many, many times!) So today here are three of his most recent killer tunes (and a bonus set with more than an hour of his music from the past year of so!!!).

*edit* due to complaints of copyright infringement I have removed the mp3 links. You will have to figure out how to get them yourself.

Ramble Boots

Today's post is a real Ramblin' Classic Rock post. I have a perfect trifecta of remixes and mashups which all feature the Zeppelin tune "Ramble On" as done by three of my favorite producers. The Lenlow mash was featured here awhile ago when Bobby G made the video for my one year anniversary here in the Pit. The Virgin Mix is quite new, and I really don't have music from MichMash posted here nearly often enough. He just may be the very best when it comes to Classic Rock mixes. Rest assured I will be sharing more of his music here real soon.

Blow Up the Sun (Just Like Jesus)

I have decided to make today Soundgarden Sunday! Here are a few of my very favorite tunes featuring one of my favorite Seattle bands. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. Especially the Joni Mitchell CSN cover.

Cupid Stunts

Tuesday was the anniversary of Al Capone's most notorious stunt ever. So let's all celebrate with a Valentine's Day Mashacre. I guess I will follow tradition and stick to some fairly typical Cupid stunts, I mean "romantic" mashups.

First up is a brand new mashup from the usually much less sappy Dj Schmolli (Just kidding, this really is a beautiful piece of work) combining two love songs with the same title.

DJ Schmolli - Beautiful
http://vimeo.com/36496518 - mp3 - Christina Aguilera "Beautiful" vs. James Blunt "Beautiful"

Here is one with an even higher saccharine content. After all, chocolate is very sweet.

Voicedude - Mars Chocolate
video - mp3 - Bruno Mars “Just The Way You Are” vs Hot Chocolate “You Sexy Thing”

Here is another mashup consisting of two identically titled love songs. This particular mash has been done by quite a few producers, but DeeM did it first.

DeeM - With AND Without You
http://youtu.be/ySC-2ARqIuc - https://vimeo.com/34157845 - mp3 - U2 "With Or Without You" vs Usher "Without You"

DJ Earworm also did a romantic little mashup with another U2 ballad.

DJ Earworm - Together As One
http://youtu.be/aKoBye__Txw - mp3 - U2 "One" vs Beatles "Come Together" vs Diana Ross "Someday We’ll be Together" vs Mariah Carey "We Belong Together"

Fissunix did an excellent little tune with a bit of help from the popular singing TV show Glee.

Fissunix - Video Kiss - mp3 - Lana Del Rey "Video Games" vs Glee Cast feat. Gwyneth Paltrow "Kiss"

Last, but not least, is my favorite love song of all time, remixed by my most favorite remixer. Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" as envisioned by Virgin Magnetic Material.

Return of the Mack

It really has been too long. I could easily come up with all sorts of reasons why I haven't posted here for so long, but it really comes down to procrastination. I have made many posts in my head, I just haven't actually finished any of them (and posted them).

I really don't think I have a whole lot of interest any more in sharing videos (here). I just don't have the time, and I especially don't have the data allowance to be streaming allot of video. The Android Soundcloud App is my very favorite (and most used) App on my phone. I use it every day, usually while multitasking. It is currently my primary data consumer, and I am already having great difficulty staying under my data cap. So what I am saying is, I believe that I will be changing my focus here from videos (YouTube, Vimeo) to mp3's (Soundcloud, Official.fm). I will probably still share the odd video now and then, but allowing myself to simplify things a bit by focusing on the music should (hopefully) make me more productive here.

Even though I have not been posting here lately, I have still been sharing a lot of music on my Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr accounts. Any one of which can pretty much be viewed as my own private radio show, playing the best Mashups and Remixes on Soundcloud.

Speaking of which, here are a few awesome Fleetwood Mac mixes and mashups that I have been enjoying immensely for the past few months. Up first are a bunch of very decent mashups from some of my favorite mashup producers, DJ Lobsterdust, The Reborn Identity, Instamatic and Colatron. Followed by some absolutely amazing remixes, so even if you're not really into mashups (which I know to be the case for a few of you - especially anything with Britney Spears), I still strongly recommend you check out the remixes at the end (and giving the mashups a fair chance!!)

Instamatic - Her Breath Is The Wind (Rhiannon’s Breath) - mp3

Colatron - Freedom Mac - mp3

Saving the (arguably) best for last, here are a trio of absolutely fantastic remixes. Two from my favorite remixer on the planet, Virgin Magnetic Material, and another from Eli Escobar, who has had the audacity to mess with a Stevie Nicks classic and create what just may be my very favorite remix ever (with a smidgen of help from Young Edits)!!

Virgin Material

Today it is my plan to do something a little bit different. Today I am sharing a few remixes, and no real videos. One track is on YouTube, but it's just a picture. None of which really matters. What matters is how good the music is. And this music is incredible! These are some of the best remixes I have ever heard.

I meant to post this yesterday, but Soundcloud was down all day. Despite this little hiccup (which was the worst one I've experienced to date), I still really love Soundcloud. And I really love the Android Soundcloud App. It is probably my favorite app, or at least one of them. I use it daily, and with it staying on top of the latest releases from most of my favorite DJ's is a breeze.

I first stumbled across Virgin Magnetic Material back in July through Soundcloud. I follow the comments and uploads of pretty much every mashup artist that has a Soundcloud account. I began to share his stuff not too long after on my Facebook feed and received plenty of good feedback. I was even able to snag the stuff on mp3 through jDownLoader, a great solution for when you find streaming music without no downloads :-) And after spending some time exploring his tracks - which I very strongly encourage - you are going to want to permanently download some I can guarantee. If jLoader is too much hassle for you let me know and perhaps I can help.

It looks like DJ Y Alias JY has beaten me to the punch on a few songs, but in my defense, it was I who told Fissunix :-P At least this makes it a tad easier for me to choose which songs to share. I was going to share the Metallica and Faith No More songs, but I guess now I can pick something else instead. It isn't at all easy picking my favorites (there are so many awesome tunes!!) but here are a few that I really love, starting with Peter Gabriel's "Big Time". Imho, the greatest remix ever! Which is why I am also sharing it even though JY also did this song.
